Dr. Francis A. D’Ambrosio, Jr., M.D., is a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist and the Founder and Medical Director of D’Ambrosio Eye Care. He completed his undergraduate studies at Boston College and earned his Medical Degree at Tufts University School of Medicine, followed by an Ophthalmology Residency at the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Medicine in Buffalo.
He has been serving the eyecare needs of residents in greater Boston, central and western Massachusetts for over 30 years. He is recognized for his innovations in cataract surgery and lens implants, including bringing laser cataract surgery to central and western Massachusetts. He also provides vision correction using near vision presbyopia correcting multifocal lens implants and lens implants to correct astigmatism after cataract surgery.
Internationally recognized, Dr. D’Ambrosio, Jr. has lectured on cataracts, cataract surgery, and lens implants in Colombia, India, Italy, Spain, and the United States. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), the International Society of Refractive Surgery (ISRS), and numerous local and state professional and community organizations.
